Magazine Maker Student Project

Connect gameplay to the real world

The Magazine Maker project is comprised of 20 individual lessons that guide students through the process of designing and creating their own magazine. While some of the lessons require prior work from students, each of the lessons could function on its own. Together they cover 8 standards from the Common Core curriculum and allow students to take on the role of a professional while working through authentically situated scenarios. When played with After the Storm, the Magazine Maker project becomes an immersive experience to which students can connect their learning within the game to their real life.
