Lewis W. Bernard is the Founder and Chairman of Classroom, Inc., which began as a demonstration project in two New York City high schools. Since its inception in 1992, it has served more than 750,000 students around the country.
Mr. Bernard is the Chairman of the American Museum of Natural History and a trustee of the Oak Spring Garden Foundation. He has served on a number of not-for-profit boards including the Commonwealth Fund, the Educational Broadcasting Corporation, the John and Mary R. Markle Foundation (Chairman), the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Harvard Management Company.
In 1994, Mr. Bernard retired from the Board of the Morgan Stanley Group where for almost thirty years he held a number of executive positions.
