Read to Lead Named Finalist in The EdTech Cool Tools Awards 2020

Platform joins the ranks of “edtech’s best and brightest innovators, leaders, and trendsetters”

May 13th, 2020 – New York, NY Classroom, Inc., an education technology nonprofit helping middle school students develop reading, writing, and career skills, today announced their program, Read to Lead has been named as a finalist in the prestigious EdTech Cool Tools Awards. Read to Lead is an award-winning learning game platform that helps middle school students improve literacy and leadership skills to prepare them for a successful future in college, career, and life. The program is one of nine finalists in the 21st Century Skills Solutions category.

The EdTech Awards recognizes people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere. Featuring edtech’s best and brightest, the annual program shines a spotlight on cool tools, inspiring leaders, and innovative trendsetters across the K-12, Higher Education, and Skills and Workforce sectors. Hosted by EdTech Digest, the US-based program is the largest recognition program in all of education technology, recognizing the biggest names in edtech – and those who soon will be.

Launched in 2017, Read to Lead gives middle school youth the opportunity to “be the boss” in a virtual professional workplace. The free blended-learning program uses games and hands-on activities to help youth increase literacy and comprehension, develop 21st-century skills, and build awareness of career opportunities. Read to Lead is used in middle school classrooms and out-of-school time programs across the country. Last year, over 25,000 students read over 320 million words using Read to Lead.
