Teacher’s Handbook 1 offers teachers everything they need to support and enhance students’ learning, episode by episode, as they advance through the workplace simulation software. It expands upon our core Simulation Guide by providing additional teacher resources, such as a comprehensive differentiated-instruction strand to help teachers effectively support all types of learners, episode assessments, and other valuable instructional and assessment tools.
To see samples of selected Learning Environment components, click each of the links in each section.
- Getting Started provides teachers with what they need to prepare themselves and their class for a rich experience using a Learning Environment. This section includes a comprehensive introduction, background on the simulation industry, and a program-wide standards-aligned skills chart.
- A Navigation Guide leads teachers through the simple process of setting up their classes and shows them how student teams enter the simulation, as well as how users view, print, and export files of saved work. The core of the Guide illustrates that simulation’s unique user interface and explains the functions of its tools.
- Sample Teacher Planners are examples of a basic approach to pacing the program in each of three settings: school year, summer school, and after school. (Classroom, Inc. can also provide customized teacher planners.)
- The Episode Guide is the heart of Handbook 1. It is divided into episodes corresponding to those in the simulation. Among the types of teacher support included in the Guide are computer activity support, differentiated instruction activities, literacy skill lesson plans, annotated episode workbook pages, annotated language arts assessments, and Resources. All components are located at point of use, so teachers never need to search for them.
Teacher's Handbook 1 comes with both our Complete and our Expanded Learning Environments.
