Another offshoot of the Annenberg Center, FactCheckEd.org helps students be smart “journalism consumers” by questioning Internet sources and digging for facts online. Helping students to “see through the spin,” the organization provides teachers with reliable sources of statistics, as well as lesson plans and teacher guides on such topics as “Building a Better Argument” and “The Language of Deception.”

The PBS Online NewsHour Extra
Teachers can find many content-area, news-and-media-related lessons on this site. Downloadable lessons are available on the topics of podcasting, censorship, anonymous sources, the media’s use of polling data, and covering the campaign trail, among others.
